COLONIZATION GUIDE
A Major Twist in Gameplay Colonizing in redesign universes like Univ 44, AKA Andromeda; has been completely revamped and differs greatly from the original Colony operation. The first major change is that the nine planet cap has now been lifted. There is NO maximum number of planets that you can now colonize. Of course, there are counters to this lively fact:
[edit] The 'Catch' 1.A new research technology, Astrophysics, has been introduced, which allows you to both colonize & conduct expeditions. You must first research this technology before you are able to colonize any worlds at all. This creates an added component to the 'early-game race' where people strive to build cruisers, recyclers, colony ships (more difficult now). The square root of the level of astrophysics allows you X number of expedition slots & every other level (1,3,5,7) of astrophysics allows you an additional colony slot. Refer to the table in Astrophysics.
2.Also, once again, in reference to the table above, slots 1-3 & 13-15 are considered privileged until you gain the ability to colonize 4 additional planets.
3.In addition to these newfound constraints, colony sizes have been dramatically reduced. The maximum colony size is now 250, dropping down from ~320.
4.Finally, colony slot placement - size ratio has also been altered. Slot 4 will no longer produce the best chance for a large planet. Now the ratio spirals out from Slot 8, the 'best large field chance' slot and decreases evenly down to slot 1 & 15. This change was most likely intended to give a more even pro/con to the system planetary positions' field size, deut bonus, and sat bonus.

Re: COLONIZATION GUIDE
Some information how much time is needed before you can recolonize a spot again:
it's a minimum if 24hours+time until next - daily once - server update
"Player Star Fighter tells you the following:
People often answer this question with the simple answer, "24 to 48 hours." We're here today to fully explain this and make sure that everyone understands.
To defend the above response: It IS between 24 and 48 hours, but it isn't an 'amount of time' sort of situation. What it really is? It's an 'it happens under these conditions and at this time' sort of situation.
Now, here's how it really works: a colony is abandoned and 'destroyed planet' appears at that location, and then, at 0110 server time, destroyed planets are checked for deletion. If a destroyed planet is over 24 hours old, it is deleted and if it is less than 24 hours old, it isn't deleted.
Now, an example: If a colony is abandoned at 0100 server time, at 0110 server time 24 hours and 10 minutes later, it is deleted... but if a colony is abandoned at 0120, is isn't deleted until 47 hours 50 minutes later at 0110 server time.

Is there a solar system that U-V is going to colonize???
Hey guys .... Is there a solar system in this universe that the U-V members are encouraged to colonize so that we may all be grouped together in one area? I will have a colony ship in 30 minutes and have a spot picked out unless there is a specific solar system I should go to.
